Some Questions and Answers about stock photography:

Q. What is stock photography?

Stock photography consists of existing photographs that can be licensed for specific uses. Publishers, advertising agencies, graphic artists, and others use stock photography to fulfill the needs of their creative assignments. I work with several agency’s who market my photographs worldwide.

Q. How will I know what happens to my photographs?

In most cases you won’t. Some artist upload their design so I can see where they used it for. It can result in very nice international publications, like a CD cover, poster, website etc. but the client is not obligated to let us know where they use it for.

Q. Are there any limits to the use of my photographs?

Yes, there are “prohibited uses”. Please see section 4 of the Istock content license agreement what these are.

Q. What is a Model Release?

A model release is a legal release typically signed by the model granting permission to publish the photograph in one form or another. You can download the model release I work
with here.
